Saying the time has come, White City is getting ready to make a submission to the Saskatchewan Municipal Board to become one with Emerald Park despite the thoughts of the RM of Edenwold.

The controversial matter has been going on for years with White City saying they are going ahead with the submission because of all the support that has been received when it comes to the initiative.

Mayor Bruce Evans has previously said a move like this will  will help manage population growth and add services to the area.

In a statement on its website, the RM says the decision is disappointing and that there are options and alternatives to annexation.

The submission is expected to be in the SMB’s hands in a few weeks.
