Pats add 20 year old defenceman in trade with Brandon

The Regina Pats and Brandon Wheat Kings have made a trade.

Regina gets the services of 20 year old defenceman Zack Wytinck in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 2022 bantam draft.

Originally listed by the Red Deer Rebels, Wytinck has three points (1G-2A) in seven games this season. In the 2018-19 campaign, the Glenboro, Man. product recorded 43 points (5G-38A) in 65 games. Overall, the 6-foot, 170-pound blueliner has earned 71 points (10G-61A) in 180 career regular season and playoff games.

The move leaves the Pats with four 20 year olds—one over the limit. The other three are forwards Dawson Holt, Austin Pratt and Robbie Holmes.

A transaction to get back to three will have to be made before the team’s next game which is Saturday night when the Vancouver Giants come to the Brandt Centre in a 7 o’clock start.

Regina will go into the game against the Giants looking to end a seven-game win streak.
