The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is issuing a recall notice after a number of beef and veal products in Canada including some sold by the online meal delivery service HelloFresh in Saskatchewan and the other Western provinces.
Over 40 products have been recalled. A majority were mainly distributed to restaurants and were never meant to hit a supermarket aisle, but two of the products may have been delivered to the homes of HelloFresh customers.
The agency says the products are 250 gram packages of beef that have a best before date of September 12, 2019 and 500 gram packages that have a best before date of June 30, 2019 and September 12, 2019.
The deliveries would have taken place between June 16 and 20, 2019 and September 1 to 4 and 22 to 25, 2019.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the beef recall.
HelloFresh says they have been in contact to all customers affected by the recall and that to their knowledge there have been no illnesses linked to the products in question. In a release, the company is asking anyone with the products in question in their possession to simply dispose of it with the cost of the meal being refunded and an additional meal credit being put on the account of those affected.
