Outdoor farmers market comes to an end

One last chance for you on Saturday to get out and enjoy the outdoors farmers market as it will run in City Square Plaza from 9:00am-1:00pm.

Market spokesperson Holly Laird says they have to shut it down at some point. “The last day of the outdoor market it always a little sad when it comes to an end, but Thanksgiving is always a nice way to end the season.”

While July and August brought solid crowds to the market meaning good sales, Laird says the last couple of months have been challenging. “Unfortunately it’s gotten cold pretty fast this fall which has put a bit of a damper on this season, but we are still going strong.”

Starting on the 19th, the market moves back indoors as it will be at the Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre for the winter.

She says they may not have the space that they have during the summer, but that doesn’t mean that the quality of Saskatchewan grown products available suffers. “We pack them in as much as we can and some of the vendors to start to finish their season so they kind of start to go down for sure. Those first few at the Core Ritchie will have some of our vegtable producers there packed in.”

The hours for the indoor market being the same as the outdoor one.
