The Regina Fire Department says Friday night’s fatal garage fire in the city’s west end is being ruled “accidental”.
Units were called to the home on the 4400 block of 7th Avenue around 8:45 Friday night after an explosion inside the garage that took the life of a man.
In a release, the department says sparks from a grinder ignited fumes in a vehicle gas tank which was directly adjacent to the man.
Two firefighters were struck by shrapnel from a nitrous oxide pressure vessel that also damaged one of the trucks on scene, but neither were injured.
The name of the man has not been released.
