Police charge 27-year-old Punnichy area man in Regina’s fourth homicide of 2019

Regina Police have charged a 27-year-old Punnichy area man with second degree murder in relation to the death of 30-year-old Denny Troy Jimmy, the city’s fourth homicide victim of 2019.

Twenty-seven-year-old Adam Taniskishayinew has been charged with second degree murder, possession of a prohibited firearm and breach.

Police say the investigation began the evening of June 11th after a report of a single vehicle collision near 5th Avenue and Lindsay Street.

When officers arrived they found Jimmy dead inside a vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.

The investigation led to the arrest of Taniskishayinew on Wednesday from a closed custody facility in Saskatoon.

The accused made his first court appearance Thursday morning.
