Prairie farm survey shows opposition to new federal seed royalty proposals

A new prairie farm survey says producers are opposed to the two seed royalty models proposed by the federal government.

APAS president Todd Lewis says the survey of one thousand farmers found no support for the two proposals from Agriculture Canada.

He says farmers want more consultation.

Lewis says farmers are not in a position to absorb extra costs.

He says the results of the survey will be presented to the new federal minister of Agriculture.
