Regina teen faces weapon and property charges

A Regina teen is facing multiple charges after police were called for a report of an assault.

RPS says officers were called at about 5:00 Thursday morning to Froom Crescent.

The information received by police was that a man had caught another man breaking into his vehicle and when the owner approached the suspect climbed out, raised a hatchet and advanced at the owner before fleeing on a bicycle.

Police say no one was injured, however the victim had damage to his vehicle and items stolen.

Officers found the suspect nearby and seized the stolen items, two firearms, knives, a hatchet, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, break and enter tools, bank cards in the name of the vehicle owner and other names not belonging to the suspect.

RPS say 18-year-old Alvin Carr is facing 22 charges including five counts of possession of a weapon, five counts of carry a concealed weapon and assault with a weapon.

Carr will make his first appearance in court on Tuesday.
