Things to know for Saturday’s Heritage Classic

The NHL comes to Regina this weekend as the Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets meet at Mosaic Stadium.

If you are not going to the game, there are still plenty of activities in downtown Regina and at Evraz Place to partake in.

The NHL fan-fest featuring many interactive displays will be happening outside the stadium in Confederation Park starting at 1. The fan-fest will be open until 7:30 pm and is free. It will also be open Sunday before the WHL Prairie Classic featuring the Pats and Calgary Hitmen from 10-1:30 pm

A free shuttle service will begin to Mosaic Stadium starting at 5:45. The shuttles will pick passengers up  at the University of Regina, Southland Mall, Northgate Mall, Warehouse District ( corner of Hamilton Street and 6th Avenue, the corner of Scarth Street and Dewdney Avenue, and the corner of Dewdney and Lorne Street) and downtown (eastbound at the corner of Saskatchewan Drive and Hamilton Street and westbound at Hamilton and 11th Avenue).

Gates to the stadium will be open at 6 and like a Rider game, Elphinstone between Dewdney and Saskatchewan Drive will close at 4.

Hockey fans and football fans can also head to the F.W Hill Mall downtown as you can watch both the Riders game followed by the Heritage Classic starting at 5.
