I finally came to the realization yesterday that had we have probably run out of good weather. It definitely doesn’t look like there is another warm spell was on the horizon so I figured it was time to put the patio furniture away.
The rest of the pre-winter backyard take down was completed a couple of weeks ago, but I was hopeful we might have another week of above normal temperatures. If I recall correctly, I also put away a snow covered patio set last year as well. It always seems to be the last thing to go before winter.
After I put some things away in the shed I also pulled out our second snow shovel. One for the front of the house and one for the deck.
Seeing as I’ll probably not stick my head back in the shed until spring, I said a quick goodbye to everything. Goodbye chair cushions. Goodbye lawnmower. So long leaf blower. We had another great summer together, but it’s all over now. Then, as I wiped a tear away from my eye, I locked the shed and gave it a final pat with my right hand.
After that I grabbed a plastic bag and made my way around the yard to pick up dog poop! It’s nice to know some things never change, regardless of the season.
