Keystone oil spill in North Dakota prompts state governor to ask for review of monitoring processes

After 1.4-million litres of oil leaked in northeastern North Dakota this week, the states Governor Doug Burgum wants Calgary based T. C Energy to review its inspection and monitoring processes of the Keystone pipeline.

Burgum has spoken with company officials and said he received assurances the spill would be cleaned up as thoroughly and quickly as possible.

The state reports that some protected wetlands were affected.
