Regina Crime Stoppers receives international award following drug seizure

Regina Crime Stoppers is a “world best” for drug and property recovery.

The local chapter is winning an international award for work being done in recovering over $587,000 in property and seized drugs.

Vice president Craig Perrault said he is thrilled by the award, adding this wouldn’t have happened without the partnership with police, sponsors and tipsters.

“That’s the biggest component is when citizens of the city are looking around and trying to keep each other safe, and we have each other’s best interests in mind,” he stated. “It really allows police to do their best work.”

“Essentially, Crime Stoppers is sort of like a piece of the puzzle. Many times the police already have their investigation moving and everything is in place, sometimes they need one more additional piece of information to ensure they get the case closed.”

Crime Stoppers International represents 1,700 chapters in 32 countries.
