Garbage collection in Regina changes for the winter on Monday.

The city will be picking up garbage twice a month instead of weekly until spring in an attempt to get Reginans to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Once again, there will be weekly pickups from a time frame ranging just before Christmas to just after New Year’s with weekly pickup returning April 3.

The city’s landfill is now also closed on Sundays as it shifts to its winter schedule.  Winter hours are 7 am to 530 pm Monday to Saturday.  Entry gates close 15 minutes prior to closing to allow vehicles to unload and exit the landfill by closing time.
