Four taken to hospital after van hits cement pillar near Shaw Centre in Saskatoon

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Saskatoon Police received a call about a collision involving one vehicle.

In a news release, police say a van travelling west on 22nd Street drove off the road and crashed into a cement pillar on the pedestrian pass near the Shaw Centre.

The driver was trapped and had to be extracted by fire personnel. All four occupants in the van were adults.

Three were taken to hospital with serious injuries while another passenger was taken to hospital by police with minor injuries.

Police say the road is still open for west bound traffic but there may be some traffic restrictions in place. The investigation is continuing.
