Regina Police have arrested a 28 year-old man after an incident in the city’s north end that saw an officer assaulted. Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Albert street on Saturday morning, where a vehicle was parked illegally.
Officers on scene learned the driver was on conditions, which allowed for a search of a vehicle or residence for drugs. When they attempted a search, the driver put the car in gear and tried to leave.
It’s alleged the suspect tried to disarm the officers and assault them when they attempted to take the vehicle out of gear. Officers were able to get the suspect out of the vehicle, where the struggle continued. When the suspect settled down, officers found crystal meth on their person.
28 year-old Justin Pelletier faces 12 charges, including three counts of assaulting an officer, and two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.
