One man is dead and another is in hospital with unknown injuries after a vehicle slammed into the back of large industrial truck.

It happened at the intesection of Ross and McDonald just before 11:30 Friday evening.

Police say the vehicle hit the back end of the truck that was stopped southbound at the intersection at Ross.

The 36-year-old driver was declared dead at the scene with his passenger, a 39-year-old man,  taken to hospital.

The name of the dead man is not being released at this time.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.
