Drug bust nets several hundred pounds of pot

On Sunday and Monday search warrants were executed at multiple locations in the Saskatoon area including the 2400 block of Hanover Avenue in Saskatoon’s Queen Elizabeth neighbourhood, the 400 block of Pendygrasse Road in Fairhaven, a storage unit in the 3000 block of 11th Street West and at an acreage west of Saskatoon in the Grandora area.

It was a four month investigation into illegal cannabis and derivative trafficking, and proceeds of crime. The investigation involved members of the Saskatoon Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit which included assistance from 11 other law enforcement units or agencies.

Police seized 232,043 grams cannabis marijuana (510 pounds), almost 4,900 grams of shatter, more than 2,000 THC Oil Vape Pens, almost 502 grams of magic mushrooms, approximately $4,600 in cash, three vehicle, a boat and trailer, two recreational vehicles, a riding mower, a Smith & Wesson .40 calibre pistol which is a restricted firearm, two stun guns, three loaded magazines, and .40 calibre ammunition.

A 44 year old man and a 22 year old woman were arrested at the Grandora area acreage and face a multitude of possession and trafficking charges.

The 44 year old male is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling it without being authorized
  • Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution
  • Possession of Illicit Cannabis For the Purpose of Distribution
  • Five counts of Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Psilocybin
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
  • Breach of Probation
  • Nine Criminal Code charges in relation to the seized firearm, ammunition and stun guns

The 22 year old female is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling it without being authorized
  • Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution
  • Possession of Illicit Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution
