Agriculture extension office in Watrous is moving to Humboldt

Agriculture minister David Marit says the agriculture extension office in Watrous is being moved to the larger centre of Humboldt.

The move takes effect in March.

Marit says the Watrous office was under-utilized, with 70 walk-ins last year to the facility.

Marit says five people will move with the office.

Marit says farmers in the Watrous area will be served from the Humboldt facility.

The move brings the agriculture ministry and the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance services together in the same community.

The agriculture ministry has 10 regional offices across Saskatchewan which provide a wide range of farming information.
