A Regina man has been sentenced to three years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman he had met through the online dating website Plenty of Fish.

Gioulian Nikdima was convicted in September on a charge of sexual assault causing bodily harm.

His judge-alone trial heard that the woman did not consent to the brutally violent assault in March of 2016.

Nikdima, who moved to Canada from Greece in 2013, also faces deportation but it’s not known when that will occur.
