Regina police respond to multiple weapons offences Friday night

It was a busy night for Regina Police, as they responded to two weapons calls Friday night.

The first incident occurred on the 1100 block of Retallack street just before 7:00 PM. It is believed shots were fired at a residence. Police observed damage consistent with gunshots to the home, and found a victim inside who was taken to hospital with minor injuries. That investigation is still ongoing, and the incident is not believed to be random.

Meanwhile, police also responded to an incident on the 2100 block of 11th Avenue. It is believed a fight broke out inside of a business, and two suspects used bear spray on their victims and fled the scene. Police found and arrested the suspects a short time later.

A 15 year-old suspect in the matter can’t be named but faces one charge of carrying a concealed weapon, while 18 year-old Avison McKay faces four charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and disguise with intent.

Anyone with more information on either incident is asked to contact Regina Police or CrimeStoppers.
