Regina police have charged one man in connection to a hit and run that took place on Sunday afternoon.

Police first attempted to pull over a vehicle on the 1700 block of Elphinstone Street. The suspect vehicle fled, driving into oncoming traffic, causing police to not pursue.

A short time later, police got dispatched to a hit and run that involved the same vehicle at the intersection of Lewvan Drive and Dewdney Avenue. The suspect vehicle continued driving south on Lewvan where it collided with another vehicle at the corner of Lewvan and Gordon Road.

The suspect fled on foot and was then arrested by police.

26 year-old David Galecki faces five charges, including impaired operation of a vehicle and three counts of failure to stop after an accident.
