8-year-old pedestrian seriously injured in vehicle collision in Regina

An eight-year-old boy is recovering from serious injuries after he and a 32-year-old woman were struck by a vehicle late Saturday afternoon in Regina.

Police learned of the single vehicle collision involving two pedestrians at around 4:55 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Arthur Street.

The preliminary stages of the investigation found the vehicle failed to stop for the pedestrians while they were crossing the street northbound on 2nd Avenue North before the vehicle hit both victims.

EMS transported the boy to hospital to be treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries. According to police, the woman declined medical treatment.

The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured.

This investigation is ongoing.
