Regina Police say slippery road conditions were mostly responsible for a single vehicle accident on Ring Road near the Winnipeg Street overpass on Sunday.

Officers were called to the scene around 5:00 p.m.

Police say it appears the driver and lone occupant lost control of the vehicle and struck a metal support beam on the south side of Ring Road.

EMS transported the driver to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The person’s name and age were not made public.

Police say they have advised the city to sand the area of Ring Road where the accident occurred.
