Saskatchewan Court of Appeal says new trial for Tim Probe is needed

The case of former RM of Sherwood councillor Tim Probe  is not over yet.

The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal says a new trial for Probe is needed after he was found not guilty of municipal corruption and breach of trust in 2018.

Probe was accused of approaching another member on the RM board to take part in a vote-trading deal.

In the original trial, the judge determined after weighing the evidence that nothing illegal had transpired and Probe was acquitted, but the Court of Appeal says the trial judge erred on several matters and agreed that a new trial should be held.

It is not known when that trial will occur.
