Tourism Regina looking forward after a busy 2019

Tourism Regina is looking back at what was a great 2019 with things like the Heritage Classic and the Garth Brooks concerts taking centre stage.

Spokesperson Ashley Stone said 2020 should be great too with two big events on her calendar that she is looking forward to.

“Grey Cup 2020 is going to be absolutely fantastic, and of course all of the regular events that we have, I think there’s a new brand at Canada’s Farm Show, they have a new name and I’m really excited for the work that Evraz and the team has done there to really enhance that show and bring it again in June.”

Stone said there are many big weekends tourism-wide coming up over the next 12 months with one of them coming at the unofficial start to summer.

“May long weekend is always the busiest weekend here in Regina,” Stone said. “There’s the Highland Gathering that happens, there is the Cathedral Village Arts Festival, and then we also have a ton of canoe and kayak events, so the lake is going to be super busy this summer, which is fantastic as well.”

Stone says Wascana Lake is a place where there is so much opportunity and is one that needs to be explored more especially if you are a local.
