Grand Slam of Curling’s Canadian Open begins Tuesday night in Yorkton

32 of the top curling rinks in the world have converged on Yorkton as the Grand Slam of Curling returns to the city.

For the third time, Yorkton is the host for the Canadian Open as 16 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams look to get first place prize money of $35,000 and points toward the year-end championship.

The triple knockout format will feature teams like Kevin Koe, Brendan Bottcher, Brad Jacobs, defending provincial champ Kirk Muyres of Saskatoon and Regina’s Matt Dunstone while some of those on the women’s side include Jennifer Jones, Chelsea Carey, Rachel Homan and Anna Hasselborg.

The first draw goes at 7 Tuesday night with the finals on Sunday.
