Extreme cold affecting school buses; none running in Regina Thursday

With windchills in Regina hitting minus 45, it means you won’t be seeing school buses on Thursday.

While schools remain open, both the Regina Public and Catholic school divisions have cancelled student transportation.  Parents are urged to report any absences so all kids can be accounted for.

Buses are also not running in the Prairie Valley School Division which affects the following communities:

Balcarres, Balgonie, Bethune, Cupar Edenwold, Fort Qu’Appelle, Grand Coulee, Indian Head, Kelliher, Lemberg, Lipton, Lumsden, Milestone, Pense, Pilot Butte, Regina Beach, White City, Neudorf, Southey, McLean, Montmartre, Qu’Appelle, Sedley, Vibank and Wolseley.

All of Saskatchewan remains under an extreme cold warning on Thursday.  While it will be cold throughout the weekend, the forecast is calling for warmer temperatures to start the work week on Monday with Environment Canada calling for a high of minus 1 on Tuesday.
