New stores coming to the Cornwall Centre this Spring

Changes are coming to the Cornwall Centre.

The mall has announced three new stores coming to the shopping centre this Spring, including Urban Planet in the upper portion of the old Sears location, Eclipse near the Source and Gong Cha Bubble Tea near Laura Secord. Ardene will also be moving to part of the lower Sears spot in the Spring.

Retail Manager Doug Bailey said it’s really exciting to have retailers coming back to the old Sears location. “From our point of view it’s been under construction and we’ve been able to see some of the progress behind the construction boarding for some time. It is really exciting to open the doors, take some of the boarding down and bring that back into circulation and have customer be able to experience that part of the mall again.”

“It’s exciting to have these stores opening up,” added Bailey. “To know that there are new retailers and new items we can bring our customers, bring in some more customers and continue to build on that growth.”

He added that it’s great to see this kind of movement, especially after the recent renovations to the food court area. “It’s nice to see some stores opening that we can kind of build on that momentum. We are hoping that momentum will continue forward and the vacancies we see today will something we can slowly fill and get back to being full and having all the retail spaces active again.”

Bailey said this will not only add more shopping for customers, but also more jobs to Regina’s downtown.

The new Urban Planet will be hosting a job fair Thursday and Friday to hire its soon to be staff.
