Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP have arrested two suspects for an incident that resulted in officers being assaulted.

On Sunday morning at around 3:00 AM, RCMP were called for a domestic disturbance in Abernethy. Officers made contact with a 25 year-old man and 20 year-old woman. The woman had facial injuries at the time.

When officers attempted to take the man into custody, both the woman and man began assaulting the officers. A taser was deployed on the woman but was not effective.

Additional officers were called to the scene, and the couple was taken to custody. One officer was examined in hospital, but has since been released.

The couple faces several charges, including two counts each of assaulting an officer.
