The province’s teachers are going to be taking a “sanctions vote” next month.
An approved vote would give the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation bargaining committee the ability to authorize some kind of job action which could include a strike.
The move comes after several days of conciliation talks with the provincial government failed.
The two sides have been negotiating for more than nine months.
