Last night, for some reason, I had a hard time getting to sleep and this one I couldn’t blame on our pets. They were actually very well behaved last night. Good boys! Keep it up.
I was just starting to fall asleep when I heard a very annoying sound outside. Beep, beep, beep. What in the world was going on? It was the same beeping you’d hear from a big truck backing up. I had to check what in the blue blazes was making that sound at 10 o’clock at night. So I got up out of bed, pulled the curtains back, and peeked outside.
It turned out to be one of those City of Regina mini-plows that I see cleaning the sidewalks downtown after a dump of snow. It was cleaning the snow off our street and pushing it up into the park that we have right next door to us.
Really? You couldn’t do that a few hours earlier while the whole neighbourhood was awake? I understand wanting to do some residential street cleaning while there was no traffic flying up and down the road, but is there no way to mute that sound? It was like there was a loud speaker hooked up to that darn beeping sound just to annoy those who might be trying to get some shut eye.
I think the last time I looked at the clock is was 10:45. Great. Apparently I’d be getting less than 4 hours of sleep.
Some mornings coffee seems to taste a little better than it does on other days. This morning was one of those mornings.
