Regina man facing attempted murder charge after stabbing in north central

A Regina man is facing an attempted murder charge after an incident on Saturday afternoon.

Regina Police were called to the 1400 block of Retallack street for a report of a weapons offence. Police located an injured man inside the residence, and was taken to hospital for what have been called serious injuries.

Witnesses told police the victim was stabbed and identified the suspect who was found nearby. After providing a false name to police, his identity was confirmed and was arrested.

26 year-old Vernon Pelletier faces one count of attempted murder and an obstructing police charge.

Pelletier appeared in court Monday morning.
