Regina’s German Club hosting Saskatchewan Craft Beer Festival

The craft beer industry in Saskatchewan continues to surge.

On Saturday at the German Club in Regina, you will have a chance to see just what all is out there as the 2nd annual Saskatchewan Craft Beer Festival takes place

Mark Heise is the president and CEO of Rebellion Brewing in Regina. He said this is a great opportunity for the industry to showcase itself and show people what is being made in Saskatchewan.

“It’s a showcase of all things Saskatchewan, it’s that whole community spirit that Saskatchewan is so well known for,” Heise said. “We’re getting really good at making really good beer, and we’re just going to share it with everyone on Saturday night.”

Heise said as big as the industry is now, he feels it isn’t even close to reaching its ceiling.

“It’s pretty incredible how fast things are taking off, and we still say the sky’s the limit, we’re really just getting warmed up,” Heise said. “People just seem to love what we’re doing, they’re inspired by what we’re doing, they see us collaborating and working together as businesses, which you don’t see in most industries.”

Heise said you can expect to see many in the provincial craft beer industry showing off what they have.

“There’s going to be 14 different breweries from across Saskatchewan, (and) a lot of breweries that don’t even have their product available in Regina, so it’s going to be a real special treat for people,” Heise said. “We’re all bringing different, unique beers you won’t be able to try anywhere else; this is the only time you’ll be able to try some of them, this will be the one-night shot for some of these really unique offerings.”

The event will run from 4 until midnight with those coming out having a chance to vote on what their favourite beers are.
