Residents of the village of Guernsey were able to return home Friday after this week’s train derailment.
About 80 people had to leave their homes after a CP train carrying crude oil derailed just east of the village on Thursday morning. Of the 104 cars, 31 of them derailed, with another 12 catching fire.
While flames could still be seen coming from the derailment site on Friday morning. Residents were gathered in Lanigan’s town hall where they were able to speak with CP officials.
