My legs are a sorry mess this morning. My thigh muscles have been so sore I’ve been popping Tylenol like candy. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I could hardly bring me legs up far enough to get my socks and underwear on. Whenever I got up off the couch yesterday, I wobbled a bit before making my way to wherever I had to go. It was terrible. Yesterday, these legs felt worse than they have in a long time and this morning it’s even worse!
Please don’t worry, I have no illness or debilitating muscle disease. No, what affected these legs so horribly yesterday and this morning could be attributed solely to Nortown Bowling Lanes.
My wife thought it might be fun to go bowling with some friends Sunday afternoon, so bowling we went. I was looking forward to it, although I knew what would be coming in the following days. It wasn’t my first rodeo when it came to bowling. I used to be in a bowling league when I was a kid and my wife and I had bowled with friends over the years. However, it had been a while since I tossed a ball down a lane, so, needless to say, I wasn’t in perfect bowling shape.
I managed to win the first game, but sucked for the final two. It looks so easy on TV!
We weren’t the only ones who thought bowling might be a good idea that day. When we got there the place was packed. It was a good thing my wife had reserved a lane for us the day before. I met the owners, Bev and Kevin Manwaring, who were running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
It turned out to be a great time. The only things that didn’t have a great time that night were my thighs, and they let me know about it the next morning.
