Former Saskatchewan teacher facing historic sexual assault charges

A former Saskatchewan teacher, originally from Ontario, has been charged in a historic sex assault case in Wynyard.

Last February, a woman filed a sexual assault case with RCMP, and since then, five other people have told their stories.

58 year old Gerard Loehr faces 11 charges relating to incidents between 1990 and 1996 when he was a teacher in Wynyard and Foam Lake, and may also have substituted at other schools.

He was arrested in Ottawa on Monday, and is due in Wadena court again Thursday.

He was also charged with sexual assault and interference in Ontario last year.
