16-year-old boy charged in business robbery: Regina Police

The Regina Police Service has charged a 16-year-old boy involved in stealing a variety of items from a business including airsoft guns.

The investigation began after a report of a break-in in the early hours of January 21. At 4:25 a.m., police were called to a business on the 2100 block of 7th Avenue where the suspect(s) broke the glass front door where airsoft guns and other items were stolen.

Investigators from the RPS street crimes unit obtained a search warrant for a home on February 20 located on the 1000 block of Edgar Street and found an airsoft pistol with the same serial number as the stolen weapon at the residence.

Police found the boy hiding in the house and arrested him at the time for an outstanding breach.

The youth, who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces three charges including property obtained by crime under $5,000.

He faced his charges in youth court on Friday morning.
