Silvernagle eliminated from 2020 Scotties

Team Saskatchewan has one more game at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, but it doesn’t matter if she wins or loses that game against B.C’s Corryn Brown on Friday night at Mosaic Place as she has been eliminated from the playoffs.

Silvernagle lost 9-4 to Ontario’s Rachel Homan in a game that lasted just eight ends.  When Northern Ontario’s Krista McCarville defeated Prince Edward Island’s Suzanne Birt by a score of 6-5 that ended any chance Silvernagle had as McCarville joins Jennifer Jones (Wildcard), Homan and Kerri Einarsson (Manitoba) in the playoffs.

With one last game to go, Silvernagle says they can hopefully end the week on a positive.

“We know we don’t have a chance in making playoffs now but we’re still just excited to play tonight. “Silvernagle said. “We’ll just fully enjoy the crowd and the experience. This will be our last game playing at home so we’ll just try and have a lot of fun and make a lot of great shots.”

The championship pool wraps up Friday night with playoffs starting Saturday.  The final is Sunday night with the winner representing Canada at the Worlds in Prince George and coming back as Team Canada for the 2021 Scotties in Thunder Bay, Ontario
