Two Regina men arrested for Friday morning assault

Two men are facing assault charges after an incident early Friday morning.

The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Lacon Street at around 7:05 am. Once on scene, police found that a 39-year-old woman had been assaulted. A 20-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

A second man, who was a resident of the home, was still in the home. When police approached the front door, they were met by the suspect. The man appeared to be very intoxicated, and he retreated into the dark kitchen, where picked up a large knife sharpener and charged police.

Officers deployed their taser on the man and he dropped his weapon. The man proceeded to pull out one of the taser probes from his chest and backed into another room. An officer noticed the man had another metal object in his hand, and tasered the man again, this time successfully.

43-year-old Jason Lawrence Moise has been charged with Assault and Assaulting a Peace Officer with a Weapon.

20-year-old Jordan Ashley Taypotat was charged with Assault.

Both suspects were released in agreement to appear in court on April 2.
