(Jamie) I Was Almost That Person That I Always Blog About

Over the weekend I was out doing my usual running around when my phone rang. There’s only one person who calls me while I’m out shopping and it’s always my wife telling me she forgot to write down an item on the shopping list that I already have in one hand while strolling down the aisle of the grocery store.

This time she was a little bit late with the call. I was already standing in line to pay for all of the other items she didn’t forget to write down on that list.

I just hate it when people are standing in line somewhere yakking on their phone, but it was my wife on the other end so I had to take the call. Sheepishly I answered, “Hello.” Then I said, “You’re too late, I’m already standing in line. I’ll grab that tomorrow.”

I didn’t want to be one of those people that I blog about all the time who spend 15 minutes on their phone while walking around a store buying groceries or standing in line waiting to pay for them. I was on and off that thing as quickly as possible.

After I hung up I said to the woman standing behind me, “Don’t you just hate when that happens?” She got a bit of a chuckle out of that, but I felt a little embarrassed.

Next time I’ll try to remember to leave that stupid phone in my vehicle while I’m out doing my shopping.
