The CN Rail Agricultural Advisory Council is calling on government to support reliable rail service.
CN Advisory Council chair Alanna Koch of Edenwold says recent rail blockades have taken a heavy toll on farmers across Western Canada.
She says farmers need a reliable rail service because producers will be paying the price.
Koch says the blockades will cost farmers multi-millions of dollars in lost sales.
Koch says the federal government must ensure a reliable rail network and will need to provide critical port infrastructure to ensure grain export movement.
