No Holmes or Chorney for the Pats as they face Saskatoon for a home-and-home

The Regina Pats start a home and home Friday night with the Saskatoon Blades as they visit the SaskTel centre.

Pats forward Cole Carrier described what the team needs to do to be successful against the Blades.

“Quick puck movement, being gritty in the right areas, definitely being disciplined, but overall just bringing a good, hard game and taking it to them on Friday and Saturday.”

Despite Saskatoon sitting 18 points up on Regina, Carrier says the Pats are feeling confident about the way they’ve played against the Blades all season.
“Through our last couple of games with them, I think we sort of have their number a little bit, and know what they like to do, know what they can do really well, and what they struggle with,” Carrier said. “We’re hoping to exploit what they struggle with, and play hard and defend really well against what they’re really good at and see how the game goes from there.”

The Pats will be without forwards Robbie Holmes and Carter Chorney. Holmes will be out of the line up for five games due to his involvement in Tuesday’s post-game fight with Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Daemon Hunt. Chorney will miss action for the next three games.

Meanwhile, Warriors Hunt and Nolan Jones are both facing suspensions. Jones will sit three games, while Hunt will just sit two.

The Pats have been fined $1,500, while the Warriors face a $2,000 fine for the incident as well.

620 CKRM will have the game live, starting with the pre-game show at 6:35.
