Prince Albert’s Victoria Hospital to receive $300 million in upgrades

Prince Albert will be getting a new hospital.

Premier Scott Moe announced more than $300 million to fund a new, multi-storey addition to Victoria Hospital.

The concept plan sees a new acute care tower, replacement of the adult mental health space and renovations to the current facility.

The project is said to increase the number of beds in the hospital by 40%. It will also include a helipad, larger emergency department, and an MRI.

The province is paying for the entire capital cost of the project, with local community organizations currently fundraising for furniture and other equipment.
