JUNO awards return to Saskatoon this week

It’s back after 13 years. Saskatoon’s second JUNO Week leading up to the awards show on Sunday night at SaskTel Centre.

Chair of the JUNO Host committee, Scott Ford, says the first official highlights are 2 art exhibitions at the Remai Modern. One is ‘Art Is Art’ which features artwork from musicians and the other is a photography exhibition at the restaurant Shift featuring pictures of Canadian musicians.

Two other events that one might not expect during a week of music is a comedy night and a hockey game. Ford explains there is a comedy album JUNO award, so it’s fitting to feature some comedy. It’s Friday night at the Capital Music Club and the JUNO Cup is also Friday night at Merlis Belsher Place.

It’s a hockey game between musicians and NHL alumni with proceeds going to MusiCounts, a charity where musical instruments are donated to school music programs.
