(Jamie) I’d Love To Pay You, But…

Yesterday morning I headed out to do my usual Sunday run to the grocery store. Seeing as I needed some fresh baked goods I wasn’t going to the store that is nearest to our house. Once I was in the store I grabbed a basket, pulled the list from my pocket, and made my way around filling my basket and mentally checking items off my list. When I was done I was quite surprised to notice that there was no one in either of the check-out lanes that were open. Bonus.

When the cashier was almost done ringing through my items I reached into my back pocket to grab my wallet. Uh oh. I had a pocket alright, there was just no wallet in it! I apologized to the cashier and told her I would have to run home and grab my wallet. Could she please hold my items for me and wait until I got back in about 10 minutes? No problem.

In less than 15 minutes I was back with card in hand to retrieve my groceries. The lady was very kind and mentioned I wasn’t the first shopper that morning to forget a wallet. I was glad to know I wasn’t the only dummy out there.

That’s the second time I’ve done that in the last 6 months or so. Duh!

When I was younger my mom used to tell me, “You’d forget your head if it wasn’t screwed on.” Yesterday she might have been right!
