Pats send players home due to COVID-19 sparking thoughts WHL season is over

The Regina Pats, like other teams in the WHL, are preparing for the worst when it comes to COVID-19.

On Sunday, the Pats said they would be letting players return to their respective hometowns to wait out the stoppage in the season announced last week which could mean the entire season will be cancelled.

The Swift Current Broncos and Saskatoon Blades did the same thing as Regina with others across the league doing so as well.

The Pats were not going to make the playoffs and had five games to play in the season when the announcement was made by the WHL to pause the season last Thursday.
