Sasktel waives data charges to help people in self-isolation

Sasktel announced Monday that starting March 17th through March 31st, there will be no data overage charges and channels will be added to maxTV packages to help people staying at home due to COVID-19.

People on postpaid Wireless plans, noSTRINGS Prepaid wireless plans and fusion Internet plans will all see no additional charges for data.

Sasktel is also adding additional news and entertainment channels to keep  people informed, and their kids entertained. They will be adding CTV News Channel (16/316), CBC News Network (15/315). LCN (266), Family (130/430), Family Jr. (133/433), and Family CHRGD (97)

Michelle Englot with Sasktel, says they wanted to make these changes to let people have peace of mind during these weird times.

“We understand that people are working from home, and we want to make ensuring our customers are connected, a priority for us,” said Englot. “This is one of the things we’re doing to help out.”

The changes are going to be automatically implemented requiring no customer action.
