(Jamie) The Streets Are More Desolate Than Usual

You’d think that all would be quiet on the streets at 3 o’clock in the morning, but as I’ve blogged about many times, there always seems to be something going on.

This week has definitely been the exception to the rule.

These last few days have been eerily uneventful. I haven’t seen one person on the streets during my drive into work this week. Not one! Very odd.

I always seem to spot a cat or two on my way to work, but this week nothing. The only rabbits I’ve noticed were the two I spotted in the parking lot across the street when I pulled up in front of the station yesterday morning. It’s like the animals are doing a better job of staying indoors than us humans are.

I decided to count the number of vehicles that I saw on my way to work this morning. I counted 4. The busy intersections I drive through on a daily basis were empty. Those are usually good for a vehicle or two waiting on a set of lights.

I’m the kind of guy that loves the hustle-bustle of everyday life. I’ve seen none of that during my drives into work this week. Each morning it seemed like I was making my way through a barren wasteland devoid of any life at all.

However, that is good news, because that’s the way it’s supposed to look if everyone is following the directions that have been laid out for us.

It may seem desolate out there, but, in this case, that is a great thing!
