Trudeau provides more info on feds economic plan amid COVID-19 pandemic

The Prime Minister provided more information on the federal government’s COVID-19 economic support plan Thursday.

During his daily briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic, Justin Trudeau said the Canada Emergency Response Benefit and other measures will total close to $102-billion.

“We’ll also be supplementing the GST credit, which is sent to low income Canadians,” Trudeau said. “For people who are still paying off their student loans we’re putting a six month interest free moratorium on their loans,” Trudeau said.

Trudeau also stressed people returning home must self-isolate for 14 days or face fines up to $750,000 or jail time.
