New COVID-19 assessment site opens in Regina

The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced that it has opened a new primary care assessment site to help alleviate pressure on existing medical centres due to COVID-19.

The new site will provide intermediate care, assessment, and treatment of people with symptoms that have progressively worsened over consecutive days and consistent with those of COVID-19.

The Regina COVID Assessment and Treatment Site will also serve patients who have tested positive for the coronavirus or have symptoms coupled with chronic diseases.

Access to the facility is by appointment only. All patient will require a referral to the assessment site. Patients can be referred by their family doctor, HealthLine 811, or their local Public Health Communicable Disease Control office.

People who think they may have symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to call HealthLine 811 for further action.

The SHA is reminding people that they do not to be tested or assessed for COVID-19 if they do not have symptoms.
